Campfire Outdoor Adventure and Music Festival went down August 29-31 in Lakewood, PA and we personally think, it was the best inaugural festival of the summer. Here’s 15 reasons why.
14.) Inflatable Jam Band
That’s right, out on the beach stage the festival hosted a bunch of dudes in an inflatable jam band, they were performing to “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” when I took this photo. It was pretty epic.
12.) Bronze Radio Return Acoustic Set
Indie Folk outfit Bronze Radio Return played a stellar set on the main stage, only to return later that evening for a quick acoustic set.
In the beginning of the guys set, just about everyone was sitting down. That all changed once the guys started playing their hit song “Shake, Shake, Shake”.
11.) The Staff
The staff at Campfire was simply amazing. Filled with veteran festival employees, Campfire was supported by some of the best and brightest in the biz. Thanks everyone for putting on such an incredible event!
10.) Costume Kickball Tournament
Even before the festival started, I had been emailing around to see if anyone wanted to help organize a kickball game or tournament.
To my great satisfaction, this was already in the works.
When the time came around for some kickball, I became witness to an almighty battle for the #1 spot. Many fought hard, but none fought harder than Team USA who took home the final win.
9.) All of The Activities!
The activities for this festival were literally stacked. It was like jumping into a time machine and being back at summer camp for all the fun and frolicking under the sun you can handle.
7.) The Ballroom Thieves
Want to be blown away? Just google these guys or check out one of their youtube videos.
5.) The Cabins
The Cabins at Campfire were huge and they had pretty dang good bathrooms for a festival. They were also located in a circle, making the middle a perfect gathering space.
4.) The Wibit and Surrounding Area
The Wibit! I’d say, if you asked the majority of the attendees what the most ridiculously awesome thing about Campfire was, they’ll most likely say The Wibit.
This jungle of an inflatable obstacle course includes a blob and a high dive.
The surrounding waterfront was also gorgeous and offered canoeing, pedal boats and corn hole.
3.) The Festival Grounds
Giant pine trees, a gorgeous waterfront and more potential than any festival we have ever seen. Check out these photos and judge for yourself.
2.) Langhorne Slim
Langhorne Slim walked every inch of this festival.
I saw him down by the lake, hiking through the cabins and checking out the bands in the crowd. Not too mention this man put on a simply amazing performance.
For me this was definitely the stand out set of the weekend.
1.) Ryan Montbleau, The Ballroom Thieves, Bow Thayer and Adam Ezra Group Impromptu Jam At The Boy’s CabinsBy far the best moment of the entire weekend for me, had to be the impromptu jam session between Ryan Montbleau, The Ballroom Thieves, Bow Thayer and Adam Ezra Group just outside our cabin. Check the video above to get an idea.
